LEAH CAPELLE
Leah Capelle is an award-winning Singer-Songwriter from Chicago. She began piano lessons at six, writing songs at eight, and by ten took up professional voice lessons with Janice Pantazelos, founder and master coach of the Chicago Studio of Professional Singing. Soon after, while learning guitar at The North Shore Music Institute, Leah began to perform live around Chicago and Northern Wisconsin at age thirteen. By sixteen, Leah was being booked for paid gigs. She currently studies voice with Jonathan Baker (JB Studios) and Arden Kaywin.
From 2013-2014, Capelle attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where she was a dual major in Professional Music (focus in Songwriting and Performance) and Music Business. She developed a love for the music business in an intro class taught by Professor George Howard (TuneCore.) Leah left Berklee and moved to the West Coast to work on her music full time.
Capelle lives in Los Angeles and recorded her freshman EP with Grammy winning producer Jeff Bova (Celine Dion, Meatloaf, Blondie). She tours with her live band, who joined her in Austin during SXSW for showcases in 2015 and 2016. Current collaborators include Rob Lewis, Arden Kaywin, and Pam Sheyne. Capelle’s self-titled EP dropped May 26, 2015 through The Orchard.
She is currently in the creative process of writing, recording, and releasing her upcoming full length record.
